PRELIMINARY STUDIES  

Desk Studies :

 past land usage, mining reports, environmental records

Environmental Assessments :

 geological and geological mapping
SITE INVESTIGATION  

Field Investigation :

 trial pits, cable tool boring rotary drilling using British Drilling Association accredited contractors.

In-situ :

 plate testing and CBR tests, dynamic probing, soakaway tests, landfill gas monitoring.

Laboratory Testing :

 soil and rock tests, material and chemical contamination using NAMAS accredited laboratories.
CONSTRUCTION  

Geotechnical :

 foundation design parameters, slope stability, retaining wall and embankment design.

Advice :

 pre-tender ground assessments, temporary works design, advice on claims, provision for geo-technical records.

Instrumentation :

 soil instrumentation design and installation, measurement of pore water and ground movement, instrument monitoring.
